==Personal Information== Simon Nixon grew up outside Flagstaff, AZ, where his mother was a park ranger and his father ran an antique shop. He spent a year or two after high school losing himself in the Sedona “New Age” movement before becoming disillusioned with it. Afterwards, he moved back in with his parents, and enrolled in a nearby community college to be an EMT. He would help his father with the shop when there was heavy business or an event like an auction or an estate sale. One time, he helped his father collect all the intact items from an abandoned fraternal lodge in a ghost town. Among the various items was The Chronicles of the House Night and Instructions to Return to the Good Dark, a massive book full of western esotericism. Curious, Nixon began reading bits of it whenever he was in the shop. After it did not sell for a year, his father gave it to him as a Christmas present. The Return detailed an account of a collection of mystics who transported themselves to a starless planet in deep space where they achieved perfect meditation before dissolving themselves into the peaceful, primal darkness. The book, written by their students, details the history of the Sunless Cell, and the magics they used that allowed them to live in the cold vacuum of space. Unlike many spiritual and esoteric works, it talks of darkness in more or less positive terms, and it is the primal beginning to which we will all return. Light and matter, on the other hand, are necessary evils that are part of the cycle of exile and return from divinity. Slowly, Nixon began to experiment and practice the magic contained within the tome. Eventually, he developed the ability to fly, and then, the ability to fly beyond Earth’s atmosphere without experiencing any negative effects. …The second time Nixon went out into the Arizona night sky to fly into space, the Brood took him. The Brood were curious about his deep space magic, and wished to know more. He was confined in a room where bright light emanated from all walls, removing virtually all shadows. He remained there, save for the experiments on him, until the escape occurred.

[[Wanderers_of_the_Galaxy|Back to the main page]]
