==Background==
Julia Mercier has been twenty-seven for almost a decade now. Her family was moneyed, genteel but not prominent. Her father quietly abandoned his responsibilities after a few financial irregularities came to light after the hurricane, and her mother went back to her grandparents. She herself got to be good at getting invited to parties, mingling with Uptown society and French Quarter scenesters, looking for something to care about. With no ties left to the world, this made her an excellent candidate for a vampire looking for a childe skilled at making good impressions in various subcultures. She resents some aspects of her new existence, but relishes others.
