===Backstory=== Growing up poor gutter trash on a miserable dustball crammed with nothing but wage slaves, Safid learned that life is cheap, but taking lives can be lucrative. He made his living the only way someone of his size and status could -- illegally. At first he was a low level enforcer for his local gang, using his size and his street smarts to hustle and intimidate the right people out of the watchful eye of local law enforcement. He tried to make his mark on the landscape by planning a bold heist to steal corporate secrets, not knowing that it would earn him the enmity of those higher up in the organization who had tried (and failed) to obtain what he managed to steal. His advancement was held back, and at the first opportunity Karl, the Capo's right hand man -- the man he'd inadvertently made to look like a fool with his earlier success -- ratted him out to the cops during a routine operation. Only quick thinking, and quick talking, managed to keep him out of prison, but he knew he'd made an enemy. Not content to take it lying down, Safid began to plot his revenge. He set Karl up, making it seem like he was sleeping with the Capo's daughter. Karl lost an ear but escaped with his life, and Safid was promoted in his place. Safid became overconfident and sloppy with his new position, but he didn't count on his enemy's perseverance. This time Karl's set up was flawless, and Safid had no choice but to go down for running contraband. His public advocate did the best he could with the case, and managed to reduce his sentence to a tour of duty as an indentured servant in the merchant marine. Safid tried to go straight, he really did, but he couldn't resist the opportunity to try to make one last score. Unfortunately, it went bad, and he had to leave in a hurry with the money and not much else. Fortunately, he still knows a few guys who can get him a clean piece and an escape route. He's going to need it.
