=Background= Elves shouldn’t belong in cities. The urban sprawl weakens their magic. But more and more Elven children roam the streets anyway. Nobody quite knows where they come from. War orphans? Victims of expansionism? Or maybe Elves are just driven to seek new environments. Regardless, these urban foundlings have carved out a niche for themselves. Sena is one such Elf. She doesn’t remember where she came from. None of the children do. She just awoke in a grimy alley. Thankfully, Sena proved an adept scavenger. Her physiology adapted to the harsh surroundings. But she didn’t have to scavenge for long. Her pointed ears caught the eye of some wandering mercenaries: Vaya and Ikara, of the Adamant Wall. The pair liked the idea of having an Elven apprentice. Sena could (theoretically) use magic; And would (hopefully) live a lot longer than humans. The young Elf gratefully accepted their offer. Over the coming years, Sena trained hard. She worked to master the Adamant Wall’s signature style. Her martial skills grew steadily. So did the bond between her, Vaya and Ikara. The pair of adults soon became mothers to Sena. Once she was old enough, the trio fought side by side. They took on jobs to pay their way; And (whenever possible) spite the Empire. Despite the risk to her life, Sena was happy and content. Why did those days have to end? It all happened without warning. Sena left the tavern to get some supplies. When she came back, her mothers were gone. The inkeeper said that Imperial soldiers had burst in, and hauled them away. Sena hunted frantically for a trail; But could find no hint of where Vaya and Ikara had been taken. She was alone again. Now Sena has a new path. She’s no longer a mercenary. Now she seeks an end to the Empire. But she hasn’t become a grim, brooding soldier. That would be an insult to her mothers. They taught her to enjoy life, even in the dark times. Sena does her best to stay in high spirits. She wants to make new friends; Find a place to belong; And maybe, if she’s really lucky, some day be reunited with her family. ==Q&A== ===“What is the price your character paid for insubordination?”=== My family. Maybe twice, for all I know. Nobody has any idea why so many amnesiac Elven children appear in cities. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that the Empire was responsible. ===“Which factions promised you their help? Which factions might oppose you?”=== Same answer for both: '''Mercenaries'''. Many of them have no love for the Empire. I've met plenty who, like me and my mothers, will fight back whenever they get the chance. They're principled, decent people. But that's just the ones I've vetted personally. Every new mercenary is a roll of the dice. Even some of the 'good' ones will abandon their morals for a tempting enough reward. We can certainly find a few reliable recruits. But rallying the guilds and associations as a whole seems impossible. There are just too many people who might sell us out. ===“What are your enemies’ crimes, and why is noone else opposing them?”=== ...Do I really need to say any more? Everyone's covered this point ''very'' thoroughly.
