A grizzled man of indeterminate age, he has graying black hair, apparently permanent stubble, and large fangs, as well as claws on his hands.  His costume has varied frequently over the years, but generally shows his chest hair and is often fur-lined.  He's known for being tough, cynical, grizzled, and gay-- he was outed in the 70's, and has since become a spokesman for gay rights.
