==Family & Background== Finechta had no ambitions in his life other than carrying on the family tradition of fishing and occasional fighting. However this changed when he was twelve years old. In a game of spear and shield fighting his spear snapped and the broken end flew into his best friend Cruim's face, it hit the unfortunate boy in the left eye and left him blinded in that eye and scarred his the face. From that day onward he swore he would harm no other person except in defence of his own life. Cruim has borne him emnity ever since. When he was 14 he was accepted by the Bradagh as his apprentice. After many long, hard years of study he achieved his aim of becoming the clan Bradagh when his master fell from the cliffs 5 years ago. Cruim, now known as Cruim aon Suil, made accusations of murder against Finechta but these have been proved baseless as he was with his father burying his mother at the time. Since his apprenticeship began he has had ample opportunity to fight but true to his word has restricted himself to self defence only using his oak quarterstaff (where his name comes from) or dagger. His father is still alive as is his father-brother. All three live in a large hut in the village. His two sisters have long since married and live with their husbands in neighbouring clans. When in combat Finechta stands at the back piping or loudly reciting poetry. He always has his quarterstaff to hand should he be attacked. If he cannot get to it for any reason he is reasonably adept at unarmed combat.
