Shath Th'Ovinihr is an Andorian born from a heritage of Starfleet personnel. His parents would tell him often that members of the Ovinihr clan served as some of the first Andorians in Starfleet at the founding of the Federation, and that his was a heritage of honourable service and pride <br><br>
Shath grew up on DS-4 Station, where his family had been stationed to serve in Ops and Engineering, and he spent much of his time out of school exploring and getting to know the ins and outs of the Starbase. This curiosity extended out beyond his home station and he readily accepted his parents' expectations that he would go on into Starfleet himself when he came of age, a path that would allow him to go further into the stars that he had grown to admire.
