My family. Maybe twice, for all I know. Nobody has any idea why so many amnesiac Elven children appear in cities. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that the Empire was responsible.

Same answer for both: '''Mercenaries'''. Many of them have no love for the Empire. I've met plenty who, like me and my mothers, will fight back whenever they get the chance. They're principled, decent people.

But that's just the ones I've vetted personally. Every new mercenary is a roll of the dice. Even some of the 'good' ones will abandon their morals for a tempting enough reward. We can certainly find a few reliable recruits. But rallying the guilds and associations as a whole seems impossible. There are just too many people who might sell us out.
