=Personal Details, Obligations, Heirlooms, and Other Notes=

'' Hiro has had a string of poorly timed ill-luck. First he had come down on the wrong side of whether some temporary campers should be moved along, later who had given them permission to use some deadfall for their own cooking fires. Both were ‘regrettable and poorly thought out.’ His family was so annoyed that they sent him on a pilgrimage to reflect. In addition, while on his travels from Nagano Prefecture south to Lake Biwa he would be required to note the marking and techniques for managing access employed by other forest managers along the way. He was to take particular note of the methods employed to keep undesireables out of the private forests. In his mind he had done little wrong other than having slavish social climbers for relatives and was very curious about what lay beyond his own valleys where he had grown up. He secretly was very happy to go on a pilgrimage and meet new people. He was also aware of his very rural appearance and tried to make up for it by staying clean and tidy, more so than would normally be possible. Arriving at Lake Biwa yesterday was quite a joy after a couple weeks on the roads and paths of the mountain highway. The open valley and huge lake was stunning. He could barely believe that it wasn’t the sea itself. He saw the ferry and carefully bathed this morning and combed his hair and arranged his yukata with the best green layer facing out. As he approached the landing he saw the yamabushi and had to pinch himself in disbelief. It was lucky indeed to encounter another familiar with the ways of the mountain spirits here on the plain. His stomach rumbled but he was smiling as he approached the ferryman on foot. Large pack with his ono and yumi protruding top and bottom swinging with his jaunty steps. Hiro is a well built and very healthy looking gamekeeper/ forester from the Akaishi Mountains of Shinano Province (current Nagano Prefecture) a couple weeks on foot north of here. He is a very poor and somewhat reserved young man in his late 20’s. He is however well read on history, Shugendo beliefs and medicine. Additionally, he is a very good navigator, skillful woodsman and hunter. "Hunter in the wilds, turning the wheel of the Law, karma travels swift, swifter than the hunter's bow, surer than his sharp arrow." And He extends a single arrow, gleaming in the moonlight, to you.
