The ingester will fall into a deep coma, which is so great that they appear to have died altogether, even under medical scrutiny. They will awake a fixed period of time later (defined by the alchemist) which can be as little as an hour or as long as a month. They suffer no harm from this condition itself, needing only a minimum of breathable air and no water or food, but during that time are entirely unrousable.
