James was as tough as they come, solved problems with his fists first and dealt with figuring things out later. He took no shit from anyone and wasn't ever above knocking heads together to make his point. He was feared by most of the people he dealt with, but when you wanted something dirty dealt with...you called James first. While involved in the investigation of a murdered heiress he had some problems at the county landfill, which had him being knocked out and filled into the landfill. He was buried on top of barrels of something that burned for while as it soaked into his clothes and then his skin. James clawed his way out of the landfill a full day later, but a changed man.
 +
He was now able to change form into any living being, roughly the same size as him. This change was great and the new powers were something he reveled in, but they came with a downside. James had changed in more ways than one, he was no longer a skull cracking thug, but had become incredibly nice and kind. Someone who put others first, and themselves last. He now had to be very, very careful. His rough and tumble ways had made him no friends and a lot of people had reasons to try and even the score. Thankfully, being able to shapechange means you're hard to find. Sadly it makes it hard to continue on in his chosen profession. He's running out of money and needs a place to stop and rest...to try and get his life back on track.
