:: S.H.I.E.L.D. has existed for 300 years as a secret order dedicated to protecting Britain and the British Empire, each member of the cabal tracing their lineage back to one of the Knights of the Round Table. S.H.E.I.L.D. includes a Spiritualism Division, which includes majestic Betsy Braddock who is the liason for Muir Island's Torchwood Institute, a small university institute and island off of the northern coast of Scotland and the home of Britain's most comprehensive majestic study complex, founded by Dr. Moira MacTaggert. Originally, she created the facility to help her son. Muir is a rival to Cambridge in scientific study. The staff includes: Rahne Sinclaire, Rory Campbell, Tom Corsi, Sharon Friedlander, James Madrox and other naturalists. <br> They utilize an airship that is their "futuristic" air base.
