Since he was old enough to read, Nathan Weston has always been fascinated with the histories of other cultures, and their mythologies. When he left school, his father's old school friend Jackson Elias gave him a letter of recommendation to present to one Anthony Dimdale Cowles, a professor of Anthropology at Miskatonic University on contract from the University of Sydney.

Professor Cowles was satisfied enough with Nathan's school records to agree to sponsor him for enrollment at MU, and also took him on as a research assistant. Though he worked hard at his studies, and his work for the professor, Nathan is eager to get out into the field and do some real archaeology. Too eager, perhaps, for his own good...
