[http://wiki.rpg.net/index.php/A_Thousand_Forms Back] ==Tristan Lang== Tristan Lang is the youngest of three from the rural Australian town of Cobar, New South Wales. As is common among well-to-do rural farmers, the younger sons were sent far away to Sydney Grammar and hopefully onto the University of Sydney to study law (always an abiding concern with farmer families of that era). Alas, the august head of school, the famous John Wooley, kindled a deep love of history in Tristan and when he entered the university it was as a history undergraduate, something his father never really forgave him for. After graduation, Tristan pursued post-graduate studies in what had become a fascination for him; the sea. Cobar is deep inland in a semi-arid environment, and the University's sailing club was a new experience he never truly forgot. To this day Tristan loves sailing. His studies slowly became focused on the south sea trade and he developed quite a few interests, one of which was the Boston venture captains and their exploits. After the completion of his studies, Tristan's university cadet unit was activated and he mustered into the army as a second lieutenant. Fortunately for him he missed the disastrous campaign at Gallipoli, but unfortunately for him he was sent to the western front. Here he served as an infantry officer amid the blood, mud, steel and death. To this day Tristan has an abiding horror of being snagged on anything after he spent a hideous night wounded and caught in the wire at Passchendaele. After the war Tristan mustered back to Australia as a full lieutenant and was mustered out, weary and haunted. He immersed himself in sailing and his studies and found solace therein. He published a few journal articles, two scholarly books and three lurid sea-tales under a nom-de-plume that he's rather unjustifiably proud of. He has since taken up visiting fellow status in an east coast US university to continue his research on Bostonian merchant sailing captains, and it is here his life takes a strange turn . . . ---- Investigator Name: Tristan Lang Occupation: Professor/Teacher Colleges, Degrees: Sydney University (BA hons, PhD) Birthplace: Cobar, NSW Mental Disorders: Hates being snagged Sex: M Age: 36 ---- STR: 11 DEX: 14 INT: 12 Idea: 60 CON: 9 APP: 12 POW: 16 Luck: 80 SIZ: 16 SAN: 80 EDU: 23 Know: 115 99-Cthulhu Mythos: 99 Damage Bonus: +1D4 ---- Accounting 10% Anthropology 81% Archaeology 1% Astronomy 1% Bargain 5% Biology 1% Chemistry 1% Climb 40% Conceal 15% Credit Rating 60% Cthulhu Mythos 0% Disguise 1% Dodge 28% Drive Auto 20% Electrical Repair 10% Fast Talk 5% First Aid 30% Geology 1% Handgun 20% Hide 10% History 100% Hypnotism 1% Jump 25% Law 5% Library Use 90% Listen 25% Locksmith 1% Machine Gun 25% Martial Arts 1% Mechanical Repair 20% Medicine 5% Natural History 10% Navigate 15% Occult 5% Operate Hvy.
