Background: Albrecht Reiner worked the market fairs up and down the Reikland for several years, before ending up on the wrong side of an angry burgher he conned at the Bogenhafen Fair – a Teugen somebody? He had to leave town in a hurry and quickly realised he’d find it hard to go back again. After nearly getting beaten up with the watch, he came across a horse and a dead body on the road east. A man in a roadwarden’s uniform had been thrown by his skittish horse and cracked his skull on a rock – bad luck for him, but good luck for Albrecht. Albrecht took the horse, donned the uniform and rode into the East. Before he could get rid of his disguise he fell in with a troop of actual roadwardens. There wasn’t much else he could do except pretend he knew what he was doing, and be a “roadwarden”. He found that his particular skills and knowledge of the low life of the cities helped him somewhat in his new career, and he stuck at it. He’s not sure about the new assignment though – Kislev is cold isn’t it! And a bit too close the Chaos wastes for his liking.
