==Backstory==
For most of her life Alina had been a typical member of the Aashta clan-a fierce and ambitious bounty hunter, occasionally supporting a prospecting expedition or two. It was during one of these expeditions to an uncharted cave at the northwestern Shadow Marches that she first heard the whispers. As many members of her clan she was raised in the Old Ways and in particular those of the Lord of Many Mouths so it felt familiar, but also extremely unsettling. The workers and guards became more agitated by the day and it was not long when some people started missing and others started getting into fights. One of the sentries killed another and fled deeper into the caves. Alina decided to go after her… and that was when her dragonmark manifested. With its aid she found her target among other missing members of the expedition, all dead around a pulsing axe seemingly made of some sort of flesh. It called on her, offering itself and the power that would come with it…

…so Alina revealed everything to her superiors, offered up the weapon for safekeeping and decided that, although the House as a whole commended her efforts, she should spend some time away from certain clanmates. Thus, she ended up in the City of Towers, mostly working as a house agent.

These days Alina, much more stern and serious than she used to be, has been dedicated to studying warfare from any source she can find-veterans, trainers, treatises, history books, what have you. The weapon she spurned did not take rejection well and promised her a reckoning. Hopefully she will be ready when that day comes…
