I must admit, I appreciated the irony of our means of infiltrating the Ambassadorial Ball. I particularly enjoyed Diamond's approach. The sheer audacity of entering a party as oneself uninvited will warm my thoughts for weeks. From the experience, I have learned many things. The first is that the members of the Wyld Hunt are, while quickly obeyed, not quickly accepted as friends. I wonder if the position leads to such isolation, or merely such people tend toward the work. Suffice to say I feel a measure of pity for the Ledaal Quans of Creation. It is certainly not the life I would choose for myself. Still, for quick, unquestioned demands, the role serves its purpose. There were a number of figures of interest at the event. In particular, I was intrigued by the Immaculate monk who graced the event. Something seems different about him. Perhaps I shall investigate him after the party. I noticed also that Kestrel found himself a lovely forest nymph to share company with. Of course, even in the desert lands, the nights can get so cold. *chuckles* I shall wish my brother well in his pursuit. The Jewel was present, and she was a joy as always. Oh, but we must speak of the General! Malek Ahmad was in attendance at the Ball! How it makes me swell with pride to see such a shining example of the Delzahn standing amongst these watered down souls. His defiance was almost palpable! Even in the face of an accomplished warrior of the Realm, Ahmad refused any less than the dignity his position demanded. His will was only rivalled by his martial prowess. My heart sang with his display of skills of the desert warrior. It was all I could do not to cede the fight, but one must keep one's work in mind. I should very much like to speak with him again. I believe it was about this time that the demons arrived...
