Editing Arcadia: Races

There are five sentient known species currently residing in the Apollan solar system: Humans, tash, craylons, synagarians, and pedrassi. The humans, tash, and craylons all originate from Arcadia; the synagarians from the moon of Synagaria (or Syrash, as it is known by the synagarians); the pedrassi from the planet Pard. Below are the templates for each species.

Craylons are small, crustacean-like creatures that inhabit the ocean beds of Arcadia. At first, humans caught them thinking they were an edible marine crustacean, but further study found that the craylons were actually an intelligent species that had developed its own language, which they communicated using a system of low-frequency clicks. Soon, the craylons were introduced to technology and a larger world. Though sentient, craylons are lack in intelligence compared to other races. They mostly live underwater in colonies clustered around hydrothermal vents.

Synagarians are a race from the moon of Synagaria. Synagaria was the last place humans expected to find life, as the atmosphere appeared to be inhospitable and toxic. But the synagarians found the humans as it happened. Out of all the other species, synagarians were the only ones to develop spaceflight parallel to humans. Synagarians developed in the liquid hydril oceans of synagaria as an aquatic species. Their bodies consist largely of cartilage with a simple skeletal structure. They have large, elongated heads and possess dorsal, tail, and side fins. Synagarians quickly made their way onto the land, as they are largely amphibious apart from the fact that they lack real legs. Most synagarians believe in a philosophy called "adaptive evolution," where they actually surgically alter their bodies to adapt. Synagarians quickly found that by quartering the ends of their fins, they were able to use them as manipulators and from there were able to develop more rapidly. Some synagarians make further adaptations, allowing them to stand on two "legs" as well as leave their home world in armored suits.
