Never considered talkative, Baldric Styrian believes that excessive words are for politicians and demagogues. While not expressly rude to those few peasants that engage him in conversation, it is clear that he prefers action and finds casual chit-chat to be a waste. Back when he was in the army, he was nothing if not a picture of military politeness and professionalism, though he had been known to be unafraid about pragmatically pointing out the tactical mistakes of his leaders. Brooding and grim, Baldric is more a vessel of barely contained lethality than anything else. Against the enemy he is ruthlessly efficient; showing no mercy to those that have dared to threaten the life of his people. Known to be pragmatic to the extreme, he is know for getting the job done right, not sloppy and quick. Though he used to be pious, his battlefield cynicism has left him with little comfort in Holy text or ritual, and he rarely, if ever prays.

''"I've fought from one end of the Seven Kingdoms to the other. I've seen men die by the hundreds, women taken by a dozen men on a bloody field, children and babes crying until they have no tears left in their small bodies. The true horror of all of this is that most of those unfortunates suffered not at the hands of some lawless Wildlings, or savage Dothraki, but at the very hands of the Houses that claim to protect them. Rulership is a duty that these soft fops with vile perversions seem to have forgotten. They forget their responsibility and demand obedience simply because of their birth, rather then the quality of their character. They beleive they are above the very laws that they enact. This will not happen in Styrian lands. not while I still draw breath! The law should be the point at which savagery ended because civilization stood in its path..."''
