==Backstory==
Ruvyen began his life as a sailor and a soldier. He lived a life of hard work and harder service, but he met his end outside Cairo in the dark of night to a warrior who was old when his own Greek homeland was young. Jerrid, called the Spear of Cairo, embraced Ruyven and buried him in the deep soil, washed in herbs and oils, the smell of which still clung to him to this day.

Being embraced by a Gangrel, sleep in the soil became a nightly habit, and they travelled often. His sire was a rough and violent soul, and there were many who hated him. But he always seemed to stay a step ahead of those who would hunt him.

The great expanse of Ruvyen's undeath was spent travelling throughout the Christian Holyland. He learned much of and from the Jews who dwelt there, but their religion and that of their Christian oppressors did not appeal to his sense of fear or worship. Jerrid had started him on a different Road.

Then one day his sire was gone. Jerrid searched the nights for him, but eventually gave it up as a poor quest and wandered west again, traveling the Grecian isles for a time before heading further west.

For a long time he has found himself settled in Florence, keeping himself in the windowless basement of a townhouse on the canals with his own modest landing and small pole boat. Though he is still Gangrel and often prefers to sleep in the earth outside the city. 

Ruvyen has no immediate desire to leave, but he keeps an ear open for his sires enemies. They will eventually seek to find Jerrid through his spawn.
