Fairly new to San Francisco, Nepenthe is still struggling to find a solid foothold for herself in the city's tempestuous political climate.

In another life she was Julia Ward, an executive with the legal department of a multinational conglomerate known as The Cheiron Group. The company, though, was largely a front; Cheiron's true business was the collection of supernatural beings for research and material harvest. After a strange series of events led to her Awakening as a mage, Julia was forced to abandon the comfortable life she'd built for herself lest she become her employer's next test subject.
