[[File:little-Havana.jpg|frame|alt=Bruja Nocturno Barrio]] This is a Location for the ''Dresden Files RPG'' game '''[[Miami chronicles|The Miami Chronicles]]'''.

'''Theme''': Us and Them
'''Face''': Ricky Rojas
'''Aspects''': Aspects: Uneasy Supernatural Truce; Legacy of the Red Court; On the White Council's Radar

The "Night Witch" neighborhood of Miami has a sinister reputation, at best. It is widely know as a "spooky'' area, and few mundane folk, even among Miami's criminal underworld, go there willingly.

Which, of course, makes it even better for the purposes of its actual residents, many of whom aren't human. The Bruja Nocturne is the closest thing to a supernatural ghetto that Miami has. Of course, even in a place like this, most inhabitants are human. But there are far more aware humans here than elsewhere, which allows the non-humans to show a bit more of their true natures than they otherwise would. Everybody in the barrio tries to avoid stepping on each other's toes, to keep this supernatural sanctuary from collapsing around their ears, creating an UNEASY SUPERNATURAL TRUCE.

The area was formally "managed" by the Red Court, who tolerated other supernaturals there as long as they didn't cause too much disturbance and made sure to give the Red Court a cut of any illicit dealings they were doing. The magically active humans of the barrio were on shakier ground β the Court regularly demanded services of them to "pay the rent", as it were, and most had to walk a fine line between doing the Court's jobs and not breaking any of the Laws of Magic. Full White Council wizards almost never ventured there even before the war between Council and Court began, and after it started, they kept entirely away. Even though the Red Court has been destroyed, there is still a LEGACY OF THE RED COURT that remains in the barrio.

Since the demise of the Red Court, the humans of the Red Court have come under increased scrutiny by the White Council. The Council knows what sort of favors the Red Court was demanding of the residents, and they are cynically certain that more than a few practitioners lacked the moral fortitude to avoid breaking the Laws of Magic. And they know that when someone breaks a Law once, they are likely to do it again. The Wardens intend to find the Lawbreakers among the human practitioners of the barrio, and execute Council justice on them before the taint of black magic can spread. The barrio is most definitely ON THE WHITE COUNCIL'S RADAR.
