The first are Humans. Stout, hardy, adaptable mortals who are skilled in anything they put their minds to. They are the most numerous of the bioforms in Cairn. Second are the Ra, elven-like creatures. They are separated into three types: Tal'ra, those of the forest who are a mixture of plant and flesh, with flowers in their hair or thorns from their skin, with limbs like entwined vines and tree branches. Skilled in all things natural and unmatched with stealth; Aun'ra, those who are wise, ageless, and adept at mysticism, practically overflowing with energy; and Kas'ra, those who are winged and fiercely strong, excelling in both ranged and melee combat, possessing iridescent skin and ornate tattoos. Third are the Undead. Vampires, liches, ghouls, ghosts, zombies, Risen, wights... any type you can think of fit into this category. Some are tasked to their lords even in death and raised to do manual labor so the normal citizens may work a little less. Others are brought forth for guard or military service. Some even sign contracts before they die granting permission for this to occur, and are honored for it. Fourth are the Constructed, magitech robots with sapient AI forged from an alchemic mixture of soul and technology that walk the world from an earlier time of existence. Fifth are the Mirrans. Serpent people of the swamps with terrible venom, these reptilian beings are said to be the result of an eldritch 'blessing' upon a group of faithful cultists by the Other known as Iormun. Horrified by what they became but keeping their origins a secret, they fled into dark murky places to hide and have bred true during five hundred years of solace. The Empire only just recognizes them as a people, and some places shun them due to their monstrous appearances.
