==Background==
Jacob was an ordinary university student, partying, going to bars, majoring in chemistry (in which he was incredibly gifted in). But he did one thing VERY different. He made meth for some of the local gangs to pay for school. On the day of his graduation he got a very lucractive offer, and had a sizable stack of money from his illicit activities so he decided to get out while the getting was good. Unfortunately for him the local gangs decided that they weren't willing to just let him walk away, and decided to make an example of him. The gang leader had a thing for classics, so he put some cement shoes on Jacob and threw him in the River. While in there he was visited by all the ghosts of those who died using his drugs, and he saw the chemical reactions of his chemicals playing out and exploding while they caused several ODs. He felt his heart stop, and time seemed to stop, he stepped outside his body, and saw his corpse at the bottom of the lake. 2 path's lay in front of him where the river forked, the first called to him saying this is where he belonged and where he would find rest, the second was Icy Cold and strangely beautiful, he decided to go the road less traveled. He walked and walked and eventually walked into pure shadow but kept walking. He eventually reached a tall tower that rised out of the lake and he went to the very top of it. He then saw written on the wall, an incorrect chemical formula. He corrected the formula and signed his name to mark who did the correction. He then woke up on the River bed with his cement shoes shattered, still alive but with a change he could feel in his very soul.

He was visited while walking back home by a calm man in a nice suit. He explained that Jacob was different now, and that he had long looked at Jacob's work and was pleased that the great things that he expected of him came to frution. He was part of the Silver Ladder he said, and he said he respected Jacob for doing what was necessary to better himself. He said though that it was time Jacob took responsibility for those who were still asleep and no longer just for himself, and it was time to atone for the lives he shattered by leading them on a glorious new path as a Uncrowned King...
