=History=
Kitomi's family had always been interested in how things work, though as they were far from the Dragon-Blooded halls of learning, by simple lack of options their interest was of a more practical side. If you wanted a horse shoed, or your door repaired, you came to them. As a youth, Kitomi was good such things. Almost preternaturally so, and it bored the Creation out of her. More intelligent by an order of magnitude around her, she spent most of her time extremely bored. The only thing that caught Kitomi's imagination were tales of the First Age and their wonders of Essence-powered machinery. It seemed like they could build something to do anything. This seemed particularly magical while picking splinters out of her fingers after repairing an old cart. Kitomi's intelligence and interest in things of old got her recruited as the brains of an expedition to loot the tomb of an Anathema. Sure enough, she found something very interesting there.<br>

It was while going over an old mural, one that shows the tomb's owner constructing a phalanx of warstriders that Kitomi Exalted. For a second, the principles of fueling constructed objects with Essence were all hers. She did it, she remembered it, she could do it again, do it better. Sadly she Exalted right in front of the rest of expedition and it was quite noticed. The snarling leopard made of Essence that serves as her anima banner was a key tip-off. The rest of the group fled, sealing her inside the tomb. Oddly, this made Kitomi happy for a time, as she was free to study the place in peace and quiet. Sadly, aside from the murals and art, there really wasn't anything there that hadn't crumbled to dust long ago. Kitomi had already decided to leave when the Wyld Hunt came looking for her. <br>

There's not much to say after. Kitomi knew how the tomb's defenses worked. The Hunt didn't. She took a dire lance from one of the Dragon Blooded who had no use for it any longer (indeed, no hands to wield it), which she now calls the Driving Principle of Design. A jade reinforced breastplate called The Shield of Ignorance. <br>
<br>
Now she had problems, and they were manifold. Kitomi couldn't quite exactly go back to her family. They'd be killed as collaborators with Anathema, even if they accepted her. The thought they might not hurt. The Hunt would send another party eventually, and since the tomb's defenses no longer worked, it wasn't a safe space to stay. So Kitomi left. Just picked a random direction and headed that way. Now she keeps a low profile, much more interested in finding First Age lore than helping somebody build a barn, though she does that now and then when she needs extra money. Kitomi tries to follow up on leads to other Exalted tombs, but thus far she hasn't had much luck. Either they were impassable, simply dry ruins or inhabitated by... other things. <br>

Kitomi did find a new friend, though. A leopard she's nicknamed Ruckus. It's nice to have somebody to expound theories to, even if they don't talk back. All he demands in exchange is the odd belly rub. It's enough. For now.<br>
