[[Category:Character|Lonely Storm Serenade]] A character for ''Exalted Solars 1st Ed.'', created by Thanatos02.
All of my characters follow the same basic rules, as noted here, though I don't expect anybody else to follow them. All of the characters are starting characters as outlined in the books. In generic books where a setting is assumed, I build a character that would fit in the setting. Where no setting is assumed, I build towards the contemporary era as the setting allows. In games that have no set point values or start character generation rules, I'll list specific guidelines built towards my assumptions of a 'beginning' or starting character. My rules regarding fat-splats or series of games that utilize the same core mechanics is that when rules create suitably diverging types of characters, I'll construct one per setting I own. (For example, using Exalted, Dragon-Blooded and Solars are sufficiently different. In OMage, Order of Hermes and a Hollow One are not sufficiently different. In games with classes, different classes are not enough. They must essentially be different characters. Other people's opinions on what are different 'enough' really arn't my area of expertise. I build in good faith.) In any event, should the character posted not be according to the assumed structure of the Challenge Wiki, it '''will''' be alter shortly, and was probably the result of a time crunch. Thanks! I hope you have as much fun with this as I did. ^_^ == Campaign == Lonely Storm is pretty much either an NPC or a PC, with options to go either way. He doesn't have any odd or difficult pieces of equipment (yet - I haven't gotten around to detailing his artifact dots yet) and he possesses no quirky or custom charms. In fact, he doesn't even use any charms from outside the main Sidereals book. So he ought to be ready to go! As a PC, he's almost strictly a combat guy. Even his Performance charms lend towards that. I imagined him as someone who was good a fighting but only used it to protect the fates of others, and his skill his guided by his compassion and temperance. (Or Temperance.) In my imagination, he starts the game having assumed The Spear constallation in order to stay in a quiet village. As a PC, he'll get roped in soon enough (and with Sifu, he's all set to eventually learn Sidereal Martial Arts). As an NPC, he's someone who looked promising but intentionally ducked out of politics in order to attempt to hide as a simple, stray soldier willing to protect the village. As a 'stealth Celestial', he may have either Gold or Bronze sympathies to further complicate or assist in PC plots. I assume his Artifact dots refer to his Reaper Diaklave and/or armor. == Character Stats == Name: Lonely Storm Serenade
Age: 25
Player: K Weston
Concept: Serene Soldier
Nature: Caregiver
Caste: Battles
Anima: Downward-Pointing Sword
'''Attributes:'''
Strength: ****
Dexterity: ****
Stamina: ***
Charisma: ***
Manipulation: ***
Appearance: ***
Perception: **
Intelligence: **
Wits: ***
'''Skills:'''
''Journeys:''
Endurance: ** !
''Serenity:''
Dodge: *** !
Linguistics: (Old Realm) *
Socialize: *
Performance: *** (When Whistling) !
''Battles'' !
Archery: **
Presence: **
Resistance: **
Melee: **** (Reaper Diaklave)
''Secrets:''
Lore: ***
Occult: **
Stealth: *
''Endings:''
Athletics: *** !
Awareness: **
Bureaucracy: **
Martial Arts: **
'''Charms:'''
(Endurance) Ox-Body Technique
(Dodge) Absence
(Dodge) Duck Fate
(Dodge) Trouble Reduction Strategy
(Performance) Compassionate Essence Replenishment
(Performance) Perfection in Life
(Melee) Harmony of Blows
(Melee) Meditation on War
(Melee) Orchestration of Conflict
(Melee) Impeding the Flow
(Athletics) Forgotten Earth
(Athletics) Inexorable Advance
'''Colleges:'''
The Banner
The Quiver
The Shield
The Spear
The Sword
The Pillar
The Crow
'''Backgrounds:'''
Acquaintances: ***
Artifact: ***
Connections: ***
Salary: *
Savant: **
Sifu: ***
'''Virtues:'''
Temperance: ***
Conviction: **
Valor: **
Compassion: ****
Essence: ***
Will:
Personal Essence:
Peripheral Essence:
Committed:
Limit:
Health:
== Character Description == Serenade was developed to fulfill a niche, either as a PC's meleeist or as a plot-complication PC's didn't expect. He's basically a someone's-child soldier; the healthy young man with a future that got roped into conflict and never came back. Except he never came back because the Celestial heirarchy got him; the spear intended for him was fated for someone else and Serenade was given a new name and job. Now, I'm not sure exactly how good my mechanics are for Sidereals. I took Dodge and Melee charms because I figured those were the charms I'd want for a melee character, and I pretty much just began to buy my way up the trees. Maybe melee isn't any good, because I know that characters get access to the big bonus of Sidereal Martial Arts. But Serenade has a Reaper Diaklave. Alter weapon to taste. == Commentary == Sidereal characters, aside from Fair Folk, have the dubious honor of possessing amoung the most baggage of any exalt type. The discussions I've seen regarding Martial Arts charms and their place in the Exalted heirarchy haven't faded from my mind even now that people have moved on to dispute the merits of 2nd Editions Charmsets. Plus, Sidereals don't even have a numerically statted Limit, and they get the extra bonuses of Colleges and Prayers. Which are cool, mind you. I guess if Sidereals get anything, it's Paradox, which has its own issues, I suppose. So I was never really sure if I was doing this right, but I totally have a character. It looks playable. So far so good, eh?
