==Background==
*From the start, Tauron’s existence was said to herald either great blessing or curse, but no one could decide which. Pushed from his mother’s womb in the depths of the warp onboard a Black Ship struggling against an almighty warp tempest, he was taken from the woman he never knew by the Sisters of Faith and was prepared to be killed like so many other infants before him when their hands were stopped by Inquisitor Tremaine who instead ordered the child to be swaddled and nurtured in one of the most heavily warded holding cells that the Black Ship could muster. At the moment of Tremaine’s decision the warp tempest calmed and the Ship powered through on its journey as the guiding light of the astronomicon grew brighter and clearer than the navigators had seen in many decades.

*The inner light of the psyker was burning within Tauron from birth, small but bright. The child was taken to an Inquisition fortress for further testing and education. Always his teaching focused on control, discipline and willpower. Tauron spent the first decade of his life always in the company of one of Tremaine’s Untouchables or within his heavily warded cell, sleeping or studying. He had many chores and made frequent trips from the fortress to the Imperial city surrounding it. Tauron remembers the planet was devout in its observations and teachings but he was never told of its name or location.

*After his tenth birthday Tremaine judged Tauron ready for further training and arranged to have him tutored in some minor psychic arts. Tauron excelled at these new skills as his psychic ability was finally able to reach and explore its limits. Despite the harsh discipline and gruelling masters, these were some of the happiest times in Tauron’s memory.

*In Tauron’s thirteenth year Tremaine disappeared and three new Inquisitors came to examine the adolescent. After much discussion and debate they decided to give Tauron the same chance as any other psyker and called once again for the Black Ships.

*The journey was a misery to the young psyker. Crammed into holds with hundreds of other bright souls, Tauron felt his own light mingling and fighting with the others. Arriving at Holy Terra and being unloaded for testing was almost a relief to the confused teenager.

*Tremaine’s years of preparation served Tauron well and he passed the Sanctioning tests and was released for further instruction.

*After he was released from his training into the Imperium as a Sanctioned Psyker, Tauron was assigned to a merchant company that was, unknown to him at the time, a front for a cell of Inquisition acolytes. It didn’t take him very long to figure out what was really going on with the company and he was recruited as an Acolyte into the Inquisition.

*Years passed and Tauron moved up the ranks from Acolyte to Trusted Acolyte and finally was selected as a Throne Agent under Inquisitor Bacchus. Although it had been many years, recognition eventually dawned on Tauron and he realised that Bacchus had been one of the three Inquisitors who had decided his fate and argued to give him a chance at life rather than a merciful death. Tauron was grateful but conflicted about the events that had shaped his life and eventually confronted Bacchus.

*The old Inquisitor laughed at Tauron, but not from spite or contempt. His laughter came from Tauron finally fulfilling Tremaine’s plan for the young psyker and completing the journey that he and Bacchus had argued for so many years before. Bacchus explained some of the events that had been deliberately placed to shape Tauron’s experience but he refused to be drawn on Tremaine’s fate.

*Bacchus arranged for Tauron to be moved into final training for ascension to Inquisitor should he survive.

*The training was hard and learning so many terrible secrets to complete the transition tore at Tauron’s soul but he passed and was granted the authority to wield the rosette.

*A cadre a disparate throne agents from previous cycles of Tauron’s life were brought together and assigned to the new Inquisitor before being sent out into the Calixis Sector to root out and destroy threats to the Imperium wherever they were found.
