Back to [[For The Spirit Of Creation]] Although magic wielders are on the front lines for the forces of Creation in their battle against the Nihls, they aren’t alone. Through the years, those without the power of magic – often family and friends of those who can – have become involved in the struggle, and learned of the reasons behind it. The Church of the Spirit of Creation was formed by such people, in order to assist the magic-weilders in their efforts, and, where no magic users were present, to try and take care of matters themselves. Although it has members in many parts of the world, the total membership is very small – only a tiny fraction of the population in any given area. Despite calling itself a church, religious rituals are not particularly emphasized – while members serve the forces of creation, service is primarily considered to be nurturing the forces’ qualities and countering the Nihls’ influence, rather than prayer and such. It allows its members to follow other religions as well - Alice, for example, sees no contradiction in following both the Spirit of Creation and Christianity. She views God and the Spirit of Creation as one and the same, and therefore Jesus as the son of the Spirit of Creation. Inevitably, the Nihls are far less tolerant. In ages past, they influenced people to have the church’s members declared witches and heretics. Today, for an organization so small and obscure to most of the population, the Church of the Spirit of Creation is the target of a disproportionate number of hate groups (plus the comic-form tracts published by a certain Nihl agent based in America). Most of those who have heard of it and aren’t part of a hate group still believe it to be a potentially-dangerous group of whackjobs. The Church of the Spirit of Creation in Moorshire Lake doesn’t appear to be a religious structure from the outside. It’s nestled in a small laneway near the shopping district, and very easy to miss if you don’t know what you’re looking for. When a large number of magic weilders appear at once in a single area, it’s usually a sign that a significant development in the conflict is taking place…
