Disowned at birth by her mother’s people (High Elves), and essentially left to raise herself on the mean streets of X by her rakishly handsome, responsibility-dodging human father, Jace had to grow up fast. She found for herself a new family, of sorts, among the rogue’s gallery of the local thieves’ guild, quickly working her way up from cutpurse to burglar. So adept was she at getting into and out of places reputedly impossible to burgle*, that the guild-masters decided that her aptitude for stealth and intrusion could be put to use more profitably as an assassin. On her first mission in this capacity, the neophyte killer-for-hire balked at the moment of truth, returning to the guild house, target still breathing. Her stubborn refusal to kill for money landed her on the guild’s hit list (one does not openly refuse orders from the guild-masters). Learning of her fate from a sympathetic comrade, Cipher fled the city and now plies her trade as a free-agent.

Cipher has her mother’s refined Elven bone structure and pointy ears, and her father’s swarthy complexion and tightly curled hair. She favors supple dark leathers for her work.

*This talent for leaving no trace earned Jace the nickname Cipher.
