== History ==


Founded by Duncan Summers, Kellogs majority stockholder and Silver Age Crime Fighter.  The Claremont Academy is the first School for Super Powered Youngsters.  However, the Claremont Academy is also different in the fact that it does not just educate Grade Schoolers to High Schoolers.  It's in fact possible to continue one's university education here, all a cover for the education of people with Metahuman powers.


The Claremont Academy keeps its function as a center for Metahuman education secret from the majority of the outside world in order to prevent bigots like '''The Knights for a Pure Mankind''' from attacking it or SHADOW's Sentry-Robots from attempting to continue their elimination of all potential threats to their world rule.  The first generation of Crime Fighters have already graduated and gone on to become Student Teachers since the early nineties, The Next Generation's members including Lucien Drake as the second Hell Rider.


The Claremont Academy has nearly 500 students on the campus.  Not all Campus Students get their powers via metahuman genes.  Some are the offspring of lines of witches, aliens, or have been absurdly educated in the ways of killing people/combat since a young age (these later attend the Academy not for combat training but to be re-socialized with the rest of the world).

Duncan Summers is headmaster of the Academy and restricted to a wheelchair since an encounter with the evil Doctor Sin.  Graham and Lucien both teach at the place, though only Graham is full time.
