| − | Born on a small island off the coast of Georgia, Reynold Duxe III was the son of an ancient line of Georgian landowners who traced their lineage back to foundation of the original royal colony. Growing in wealth and prestige, the family's descendants populated the ranks of the old money aristocracy. By the turn of the twenty first century the Duxe family had become one of the riches family's in the state, and produced at its height six Congressmen, three Senators, and two Governors.

| − | All however was not well in the house of Duxe. Reynold's father, mother, and older brother died within three years of one another leaving the young boy virtually alone in the world. Upon hearing the news of their deaths, Reynold's godfather Melchizedek took him in to live with him in his mountain home in the Colorado Rockies. Melchizedek was an avid swordsman. Collecting melee weapons from around the world, from different times and places, he sought to master their versatility to find the true soul of the swords-master. Reynold had a particular fondness for the dao.
