"Hello this is Rick Allen reporting from Titania Space Port here on Miranda. That's right... Miranda. Over two weeks ago, my ship was forced to make a crashlanding after being shot down by a Reaver vessel. We have been stranded here on Miranda since then and have begun to investigate information sent out during the Miranda Wave. Let me begin by telling you about our journey to the Blue Sun system.”

Rick begins to talk about the events leading up to the crash on Miranda. Starting with intercepting Alliance transmissions and talks about how they decided to leave the survivors for the Reavers.

“Upon entering the debris field left over by the battle, we responded to a distress call.”


Rick briefly talks about how after further investigation of the debris it appears that the battle was between Alliance and former Brown Coat forces.

“Two members of the crew, Rina and Arden, boarded the ship transmitting an automated distress call to help survivors.  Once they were on board it became clear that Reavers had already been aboard, killing most of the crew and mutilating their bodies.  How ever 4 crewmembers remained alive, tied up and presumable forced to watch the horrible tortures that befell their shipmates.  It appeared that the distress call was actually a trap and Reavers began to attack the members of my crew while Arden worked to free the 4 survivors. While this was going on, out side of the ship a Reaver ship attempted to dock with this derelict vessel and supply reinforcements, we were able to shoot it down.”

In an excited show host sort of way Rick begins to detail the fleeing of the Summers Gift and its pursuit by a Reaver ship.

“We engaged the ship in pulse managing to destabilize its course by shooting a missile at it.  This was able to buy us enough time for our pilot, Nika, to perform a brilliant maneuver to hide us behind the moon of Miranda after coming out of pulse. We then decided to lay our own trap for the Reaver vessel and prepared to fire on it once it came out of pulse.”

While describing the battle Rick used two small pieces of metal as models of the ships and made sure to make the appropriate sound effects.  After a reenactment of the battle Rick said “We had destroyed the ship but not the remaining two missiles that it had fired. We were left with few options, so our gifted pilot yet again saved our skins by entering the atmosphere of Miranda at an angle such that the missiles were unable to follow and were subsequently destroyed.”

Rick did a brief reenactment of the crash and then went through a brief list of the items that had been lost as the ship crashed.

“At least we are all safe though, but how safe are we on Miranda? That is what we will try to find out. It will take us some time to repair our ship or fix up one of the many ships that have been rusting here on this world.  While we are here we will begin to investigate the strange circumstances surrounding the Miranda Wave. I hope you will keep your browsers fixed on this Cortex Station for or report!”
