'''Pitch''' An alien ship crashes in the Texas hill country. A young man sees the crash and races to the wreckage. He races to the site and finds a dying alien who holds out a strange crystal, saying, with his last breath, "Don't let the darkness extenguish the light." The crystal fuses to the young man in the form of a ring, and he is flooded with power, because he holds the very Spark of Creation, one of the key powers of the universe. With it, he can create virtually anything he can imagine. The Spark's scope is limited by his imagination. Its power is limited by his will. The young man is an artist and writer, though only a hobbiest. His imagination is vast. But he's also a slacker who still lives with his mom and works part-time at a big-box retailer. His will is a little lacking... This will be a cosmic weirdness book. Geoff Daniels, the protagonist, is a good-hearted slacker suddenly beset with the powers and responsibilities of a God. Vast, powerful forces want to destroy him or use him. There are other Keys of the Universe that need protecting or wresting away from malevolent users. And there's a huge chance for Geoff to cock things up on a universal scale. His power is that he can create/summon anything he can imagine - including living beings. And they're completely real, not just holograms or golems. But how long they last and how solid/durable/powerful they are depends on the level of will Geoff can invest. This is a story about taking the final steps to grow up and face adult responsibilities, about learning how to pursue your dreams in the real world, and probably about summoning at least one harem of cat-girls.
