Leah was raised in a cult and was rescued / brought out at age15 by Warren, her grandfather, now in ailing health. Part of the reason she became a doctor was to try and help deal with his increasing fragility and ill health. She still has nightmares about her time with this cult. Her mentor is Head of Pathology at the University Hospital (Dr Timothy Spencer). She maintains contact with her sister (Abigail) who is still within the cult and also with Harold Attwood who managed to escape the cult and was used by her grandfather to facilitate her escape. She's determined not to be a prisoner or helpless again.
