As the sunset that night, Kid Devil took his vengeance.  It's still a blur to him, but that night he ran wild on The Crusaders.  Hitting them at home, at work, their secret bases Eriq was just the Devil.  By early morning the battle had taken to the street, with the last Crusader squads being brought down in the city square by the Devil.  It was his 18th birthday.  As the sun rose, Eriq gave the evidence he collected to the national guard units that had just arrived.  And no one ever saw Kid Devil again.

Eriq moved to Port City to get away and began writing in his rundown dockside apartment.  But still felt the need to fight the good fight.  Creating a darker image, he stopped making jokes, and instead relies on fear and stealth.  The Devil of Dockside was the first hero Port City had since the death of The Hammer years before.  Believed to be a myth until his public fight with Jack Lantern, The Devil is slow to trust and doesn't let other's get close to him. However with the appearance of the new Kid Devil and his confusing relationship with the slightly insane Anne Sigmond (secretly [[Firebird]]} he is beginning to open up a little.  Although his hatred for Port City's Paragon [[Aegis]] (Aaron Godrick) is widely known, even though the public is unaware of their relationship.  Furthermore, while he is known as The Devil of Dockside he operates in all of Port City's districts.
