His father wanted him to become a soldier and his mother wanted him be become skilled at the courtly arts. At a young age it was discovered that while Diego lacked natural ability in many things he had a drive that forced him to excel at what ever he did. By 16 he was a master swordsman and had master the Florentine style for swordplay. He also had a knack for courtly dance. Unfortunately this would prove to cause him unending trouble. While the young noble lads of court would tease him because of his skill they hated him for his good looks and his way with the ladies of court. He became a master of the ballroom and bedroom. One night after a little too much drink and too much fun with an Earl's wife, he was obliged to leave the Spanish court in the dead of the night. We boarded the first ship leaving port. Unfortunately this ship was sailing to the West Indies. About a month into their voyage a strange green light was spotted on the horizon. The captain tried to set a course away from it but what ever way they went the light followed an got closer. As the light touched the bow of the ship there was a loud crack of thunder. The next thing he know Diego was waking up on the shore of an unknown island. That was thirteen years ago. Since then he has ben a Sword instructor, dance instructor and Captain of the marines on several ships. He has learn to use muskets in addition to his sword. He has never stayed in one spot very long, usually having to run from an angry husband or three.
