Awaking to the sound of crickets chirping and the slow light of moonlight, the woman arose from her slumber. She had slept enough; after all. The nightmares that plagued her were a constant occurrence and today had been no exceptions as she could for a few moments only think of flames and fire. Dark eyes glanced around as she didn’t move at first, always being sure no one had gotten it before she moved. No noise meant probably no intruders though she would know better when she went upstairs.

She could have a bed room, she had plenty but felt better, safer somehow sleeping in one of the tunnels that ran under her house. Living outside of town had its advantages after all. The tunnels had already been there as it turned out she had just lucked out on the house being on top of them. She proceeded to get up and make her way down the tunnel towards the stairs that would lead her into her house.

She past a few of her guests along the way. Checking them as she went, not ready yet, that one not quite. One moved…damn….jumping on it she finished it off and then made sure it wouldn’t move again, at least not without her. Tasty as it was, she needed to be more careful next time. Still going down the corridor and stopping at a particular spot. Checking and double checking. This was ready to come upstairs. She grabbed it and held it over her shoulder as she made her way up the stairs and into her house.

More food was needed, Francine took to getting some. The dark red liquid stored in bags in her fridge, they were more backups for when she couldn’t or didn’t want to go and hunt. First though, her newly arrived guest needed to be dropped off. There was a seat left at the table. She checked on the others, fine one more.

The display of food was needed to be changed but first she would eat. The fridge was practically full of food , actual food which she couldn’t eat. What she wanted was in the other fridge, the one in the back room which was kept locked. Making her way back there she easily got some blood and put it into a cup and drank it , then another cup this one for sipping.

With cup in hand her next trip was back to the dining room, taking a bag with her she threw out the food that was out and replaced it with a new set up. A wedding feast. No, she wasn’t delusional to think that it was a real wedding feast but she did like creating scenes from literature with her friends. Miss. Havisham was always one of her favorite characters. It was set up now for few costume set ups as well, well, really one.

The woman went upstairs and found a bridal vale she had kept. Shortly after it was on her guest, though sitting the woman up was a little tricky, Francine had learned certain tricks to make it happen. It took Francine another hour but eventually the dining room was set up just the way she wanted. Now to check on her other guests. The living room, they were fine. The two guest rooms: one the arms had fallen off of on one but it sort of added to the entire thing. Francine shrugged not really worried about it. It was a work in progress after all.

She went back downstairs and took a seat finishing her second glass of blood. Thinking about the events of the recent past. The woman wasn’t happy with being stuck with not just vamps that were knew to the town but two that weren’t even vamps and one newbie. She just had a feeling they were going to end her in a lot of trouble. It seemed so long since she had been a newbie but she never recalled having such an issue with getting rid of a problem before. The children were a problem and the logical thing was to have gotten rid of them in the first place and never get …what was that one’s name again….Zadie? Well, never get Zadie’s grandmother involved. It would have been so much easier but apparently she was stuck with some who chose feelings over logic, even now that made Francine shake her head. Well, she would forever remember what her Sire taught her…trust no one…especially that bunch, apparently.

---- Return to Natchez By Night
Return to Timeline
Return to Adventure Log
