Editing Dinosaurs and Prehistoric Animals:Laurasia 210 Million Years Ago

During the late Triassic period, the continents were still connected.  North America, Europe and Asia were one continent called Laurasia. During the Triassic, archosaurs - a group of reptiles that includes crocodiles and dinosaurs - replaced mammal like reptiles and pareiasaurs in most niches.  Early dinosaurs appear in the Triassic, although they did not match the size and variety of later dinosaurs.

Placerias - a big, stocky, beaked and tusked mammal-like herbivore

Postosuchus - a big, land-adapted crocodile-like predator

Rutiodon - crocodile-like phytosaur with a long snout for fishing

Effigia - a small, fast bipedal crocodile-like beaked animal

Trilophosaurus - lizard-like plant eating archosaur
