Doran Keel is the third born son of a Sailor who was raised who was raised in the Stormland’s and unlike his Sailor brothers he’s never left. At the age of 8 he was fostered to the Master Huntsman of the Styrian House, a man who only had one son of his own and needed the help. Doran took to the profession almost right away, he had an instant bond with the animals that were a part of the of the Hunstman’s job. He spent the first several years training the dogs in the Kennel, teaching them to take certain scents and to point out game, training them to hunt by a man’s side. His accomplishments in this regard even brought himself and the House a little recognition when a Cousin to the King, after being taken on a hunt during a stopping visit, accepted a hound as a gift to bring back to Dragonstone.

At age 21 Doran is still acting as an Apprentice to the Master Huntsman. It’s acknowledged by nearly everyone in House Styrian that once Master Donovan retires Doran will receive the title of Master Huntsman and not Donovan’s son Carter who is two years older than Doran. This has led to a little bit of a rift between the two young men who grew up together. Master Donovan has been gracious enough to stay out of it though.
