[[Fading_Halo|Beyond A Fading Halo - Home]] [[File:Aurogen_III.jpg]] '''Name:''' Aurogen III
'''Type:''' Self-contained Heo class habitation structure
'''Solar System:''' Aurogen
'''Star Cluster:''' Manean Nebula
'''Population:''' 700,000
'''Creator:''' iwantpie
==History== Originally established as one of a series of Ulmer mining colonies in the mineral-rich Aurogen asteroid belt, Aurogen III ceased in this function over two hundred years ago once the belt was exhausted. Unlike the other colonies in Aurogen though, Aurogen III managed to find a purpose beyond mining and thus was not abandoned. Nowadays, Aurogen III is a home port for smugglers and criminals due to the difficulty of tracking ship movements through the asteroid belt. Some live in the colony itself, others spread across the other rocks in the belt but all operate from Aurogen III. One of the galaxy's few free ports, the colony is ruled over by the Kurth'Adel, a family of Ulmer who grew wealthy off Aurogen's minerals and wealthier still off the levy they place on all operations out of Aurogen III. The colony is not just home to unsavoury scum of the galaxy though. It is a good place to go for those wishing to escape the bureaucracy of galactic government or the constrains of interstellar politics (the Kurth'Adel are not part of the Ulmer Confederacy). It is one of a handful of places in the galaxy where a person can travel to and make a life for themselves without interference from others or the constraints of caste or class systems. Auriga III as a colony is a dilapidated, ugly structure of disjointed metal and composite structures with little apparent design behind its construction. A half-hearted crew of technicians keep the station going to minimum capacity but everywhere you look inside you're likely to see rust and structural damage and many areas of the station have been closed and effectively condemned as the Kurth'Adel are either unable or (more likely) unwilling to pay to have them fixed. ==Notable Locations== ==Notable Residents==
