Aerith is a strange girl in the fact that she's utterly clueless seeming about the vile and villainy being conducted by the crew. It's quite possible that the initial carnage has driven her insane like it did other crew members who aren't paladins onboard the ship (you can visit Bruce and Jacob in their straitjacket writhing madness in the hold). However, unlike them, she maintains a reasonable functionality.

There's a slight problem though. Aerith is sweet. Not just kind and compassionate but the insufferably sugary light and purity type of good that unicorns are utterly creeped out by her purity. She seems to have a cosmic protection from bad things happening to her and an almost Disneyesque theme plays wherever she goes. Her utter inability to comprehend innuendo has also been something of a problem on the ship. Not to mention she seems to be able to Charm Monster every chance she gets. Apparently mind control (administered with a chaste kiss) falls perfectly under her moral structure and part of her good use.

Andrea and Terra, as the crew's resident females of evil, have both vowed privately to murder her in horrible ways but have found their efforts blocked by divine protection. Lisa SHOULD love the girl but finds herself horribly creeped out by the Stepford Cleric. Marish however loves the ear scratchings she gets. Jarlot, on the other hand, is insanely jealous and has privately employed V to try and murder anyone who seems to get close to her. He seems utterly irrational on this point (more so than most)

Since she's arrived, morale amongst Redshirts has raised from the Infinite Layers of Xoriat to Shelvaresh level thanks to her Band-aids of Healing, Snapple Potions of Healing, and Cosmic Moon Wand of Revive (spoken while doing a spinning piroquette).
