==Chilimancer Prestige Class== This is a prestige class that is unique to the Eberron of the Forgotten Freedom. It is noteworthy that thus far no member of the Forgotten Freedom crew has taken levels in it, for reasons that will become obvious... So far nobody has owned up to creating this class, but if crewmembers are asked to speculate, the most common guesses as to the culprit are Kithle or 13, with a fair majority picking the former. The practitioner of Chilimancy is a spellcaster who seeks to enhance their power through tapping into the cosmic forces contained within Norbaz's Chili. The scrolls describing the rituals to develop these powers claim that divine ascension is possible as the ultimate step in mastering the Chili - interestingly this is actually correct. The ancient scrolls describing the process (rather they appear ancient to any examination short of a Wish to know their true nature, which can only reveal that they are a few years old and/or contain no untruths depending on the wording) turn up in odd places in libraries or book stores for the unwary or ambitious. Distilled to the game essentials, the scrolls give the following information: '''Hit Die''': d4 '''Requirements''': :'''Feats''': None. :'''Special''':Must have studied the Ancient Scrolls describing Chilimancy or have been trained by someone who has done so. Must have obtained and eaten 12 alarm or hotter chili from Norbaz's galley and survived. Must be able to cast at least two spells with the acid or fire descriptor. :'''Class Skills''': Bluff(Cha), Listen(Wis), Knowledge(Arcana) (Int), Intimidate(Cha), Spot(Wis), and Profession(Cook) (wis) :'''Skill Points at Each Level''': 2+Int modifier. {| class="wikitable" style="text-align:center" |+Basic Information |- ! The Chilimancer gains the bonus feat Energy Substitution: Chili. '''Chili Spells''' The Chilimancer gains access to Chili related spells, such as Increase Alarm, Summon Chili, and Baleful Polymorph: Chili. '''Immunity to Chili''' Contact with Chili no longer causes any injury to the Chilimancer. '''Chili is a Part of Me''' By touching chili the Chilimancer can absorb it as a free action, regaining one hit point for every two the chili possesses up to his normal maximum. Once per day per Chilimancer level he can instead give himself a boost equal to his Chilimancer level to any ability score with a duration of one hour. '''Chili I Am...''' ...lest Chili I become! The Chilimancer becomes chili. This changes the Chilimancer's base type to ooze or aberration, whichever is more advantageous to the Chilimancer at the time. '''Chili God''' Divine Ascension! The Chilimancer gains Divine Rank 1 and can grant spells to priests. Further development as a divinity is entirely up to the Chilimancer. What the Scrolls do not say is as important as what they do... The reason that nobody aboard the Forgotten Freedom has taken levels in this class is because they all are aware of the downsides. In fact there are regular betting pools on how long a Chilimancer survives once they reach certain points in the development of their skills... The downsides: '''Chili I Am...''' Once this stage is reached, the Chilimancer resembles nothing so much as a humanoid mass of Chili. Communication is impossible without magic or psionics. This tends to make getting along with others somewhat difficult. Worse, the Chilimancer becomes detectable (or is that delectable?) to those who actually like chili... at distances of many miles. '''Chili God''' The actual act of gaining divine rank creates a disturbance that many folk in Eberron can detect. The crew of the Forgotten Freedom have betting pools on how long before one of the beings in particular takes to respond. As at this point the Chilimancer is a divine being made of Chili. It is unsurprising that the FF crew nickname this class feature as '''Deicide's Delight''' or '''Satnak's Snack'''. The longest survival time recorded so far was 10 hours, the shortest about 2 seconds. The average is 18 minutes. At present there are no Chilimancers of this level in Eberron. ---- [[Forgotten_Freedom:Other|Back to other]]
