Pardan, the Living Disaster Male Human Wild Mage (3rd. Ed. write-up from the AD&D 2nd ed. Kit, not the {rather lame} PrC)/Barbarian If anyone on this wacky skyship can be described as a "wild card", it's Pardan. He's brutish. He's unpredictable. He's a wizard but likes to bash heads in as much as cast spells. His spells are often unpredictable, occasionally outright dangerous for anyone standing around. He is way too gutter-mouthed than normal for someone of his intelligence and profession, he's impatient, stubborn and has the shortest fuse anyone's ever seen. In short, he just fits right in onboard the Forgotten Freedom. Pardan was born and raised in Aundair. Early in his youth, Pardan showed a magical aptitude few others would ever achieve. Showing a keen mind, he was welcomed into the college in Arcanix. His stubbornness and his impatience, his inattention and his other flaws... well, his father hoped that the school would do their best to discipline him. Well, they tried... but they failed. While he was incredibly talented, he was quickly dreaded by his teachers for the way he behaved... and the way his magic worked. He was the only one they knew who could do magic by accessing the raw stuff of magic itself rather than force it into shape by his will (maybe he was just too lazy for that), creating amusing and sometimes terrible effects. And he proved incredibly resistant to any attempt to teach him normal magic. So, they decided to throw him out. It was better to waste his talent than to have him blow up the school by accident. Pardan swore... well, not revenge, but to come back and kick the bookworms' asses with his magic for throwing him out. After that, he quickly came to terms with his situation and took up adventuring... and has not regretted it since. He's the source of many of the derogatory comments about Queen Aundair and her brother... and the starter of more than one quarrel with Andrea because he finds necromancy disgusting. Also, Jarlot the second has had to make a few rules regarding fireball use and abuse because of him. As he does all the time, Pardan ignores him. It says much about his character that he finds the antics of Doog incredibly funny, especially concerning the warforged. However, he IS smart, even if that doesn't show that often. Face him with a magical or mundane riddle and for a while he might actually talk like a wizard, not a barroom lout. Well, for 5 minutes, at least. ---- [[Forgotten_Freedom:Crew|Back to crew]]
