Common Name: Soulsnuggle
Other Names: Scare Bear
Description: More commonly simple refered to as a "snuggle", this is a terrifying beast of recent origin.  It has the appearance of a two foot tall teddy bear coming a variety of colors and it has a rainbow like symbol in pastel colors upon its stomach.  It's most disturbing feature however is the dead, glossed over look it has in its eyes.  This is the result of the fact that this creature lacks a true soul and has only a poor proximily.  

This creature's abilities include the power to erase the knowledge of its prescence from the minds of others, effectively making it invisible.  It can also use its "stare" ability to project a ray from the symbol on it's stomach that can influence, disrupt, or even control the minds of other in various ways.  It's most notable power however is its ability to extend a number of tentacles from its mouth which it uses to restrain its target.  It then forces the creature to look upon it's stomach symbol as it suck the soul from its victem to temporarily fill the void within itself.  The victem then becomes a near mindless thrall to the the soulsnuggle and the creature itself is empowered by the soul and recieves a measure of healing.  The creature actually derives its common name from this ability because of the way it tenderly embraces its victems while it draws the essence of their lives from them.

The behavior of a soulsnuggle is best described as apathetic.  They feel no emotions other than a dry, insatiable hunger for souls to ease temporarily the pain of its soulless existance.  The beast possesses a great measure of natural cunning but is in fact barely sapient, relying heavily on the guidance of it's master, if any.

The body of a soulsnuggle appears solid but in truth is formed mainly of a spongy, foamlike material.  This makes the creature abnomally light and soft as well as allowing it to take brutal physcial blows without any inconvenience.  The phrase "It's snuggly soft," has in fact come to be used to describe the ability of other creatures absorb blows with without suffering serious harm.
