V for Vengeance Chaotic Neutral Fighter 6/Rogue 1/Cyrean Avenger 3 or Rogue 3/Ftr 4/Art 2/Invisible Blade 3 In what is obviously the man's attempt to get his ideas for how he would conduct his life from a woodcut novel bought in Sharn, V is a self-styled member of the Sword of Liberty whom has sought refuge on the Forgotten Freedom while he plots more or less overthrowing every single government in the Four Nations. In what is genuinely surprising, there's not terribly much funny about Vengeance. Vengeance is a former soldier of the Cyrean government and is a survivor of the Day of Mourning. Horribly deformed and disfigured by the blast, Vengeance wandered through the aftermath of the chaos and cataclysm while struggling with his own anger over the poor treatment of Cyreans. He thus got himself a heavy cloak, a large hat, and a garish-looking theatrical mask. He has since waged a never-ending campaign of guerilla warfare against the Five Nations in hopes of eventually toppling the governments. Vengeance sought refuge on the Forgotten Freedom after more or less determining that the pirate ship was a place that couldn't possibly be sought MORE by the government and thus wouldn't really object to his presence. Captain Jarlot is somewhat sympathetic to his aims as his distaste for a certain Witch on the Throne of Aundair, an undead on the throne of Karrnath (the irony is that they don't BELIEVE he's a vampire yet they're spreading the idea he is), the corruption of Brelish parliament, and a certain Cardinal in Thrane who REALLY rules the government. Much like Malcolm Renyolds, whatever tweaks the establishment's nose is fine by him. Vengeance isn't a blanket murderer though as his goals are more to make the governments look ridiculous than destroy its members. It's thus Vengeance that secretly (or not so secretly) uses Ketler's inventions that he commissions to carry out activities that have given the Forgotten Freedom such a reputation as the avatar of the ridiculous that it has. The one exception to his government views is V's adoration of Jaela. He views the young girl as the incarnation of innocence and thankfully nothing untoward is in his feelings even as she just reminds him of his own lost family. V sends poetry, flowers, routinely tries to kidnap her to hug her, and also plots to make her a crew member. The fact that he's unable to say anything nice about the Silver Flame (or the Sovereign Host) to save his life isn't much of a concern. V remains one of more recognizable figures of the crew due to the fact that... well... he wears a giant coat, hat, and has a theatrical mask on all the time. He is the second most armed figure on the ship after a certain half-orc. Laden down usually with alchemist's fire, explosives, knives, swords, crossbows, and a hat of fireballs (yes, that is actually true). ---- [[Forgotten_Freedom:Crew|Back to crew]]
