| β | Gabriel Valos started life during the Great Crusade as a Blood Angel. Recruited from Baal into the legion of the primarch Sanguinius, he distinguished himself against the greenskin hordes and the eldar, and at the outbreak of the Horus Heresy, was performing a tour of duty alongside the Emperor's Children. He was inducted into their warrior lodge and followed Fulgrim's Legion into the worship of Slaanesh. After the Battle of Terra, he fled with the rest of the Traitor Legions to the Eye of Terror, taking part in several of Abaddon's Black Crusades. He left the Eye of Terror recently, determined to create a warband of such strength as to corrupt the Blood Angels, who he sees as weak, twisted remnants of a dead primarch who betrayed Valos by siding with the Corpse-Emperor.
