Oh Clio, glorious Muse, I invoke Thy Favor as I speak of Strange and Wondrous events; the basis of an Epic Tale told with Awe and Melodrama. I praise the glories of the Son Leonardo, the Patrizio of Marduco and his Valiant Companions, Ciel, her Cat, Bar-Name, and Baz-Name, and of the Magnificent Queen of Daffodils. May Thy Thesaurus grace my lips and may I never fail to bring life to WORD; may this Codex never crumble, nor face bookworm nor fire. I write of his Quest for Truth, Glory, and Mighty Cliche, and thus begin at the Beginning. As to Cliche, it being well known that Adventurers meet in a Bar, it was nearly brought Low. Neither Pub nor Bar brought the Party together, but the Nectar of Ambrosia, the Water of Life, also known as "Elf Piss". Leaving aside Trivia and Trivium, I forgo the Tedium of the circumstances with which Bar-Name and Ciel concerned themselves, and focus on the Priorities. I have not TIME to speak on TIME to speak on TIME to speak on TIME . . . but merely note that Time need not be considered a Constant. In whatever meta-Reality supersedes our own, I note that a week can pass, when one of us Characters takes not even one breath, or that entire Lifetimes can be Summarized and Reduced to a single parenthetical Comment. I also note that Butterflies have a unique and almost radial Symmetry, that Dimension may have Fractional, even non-Rational Order, and that Brust is much better at Florid Prose than I thought, now that I have myself tried to Write Some.
