The Guild of Arcane Evokers is part of the Guilds of Tashyn and is an organization of Mages located in most large cities across Tashyn
==Origins== Long ago, Tashyn was ruled by magic. Society's hierarchy and structure was largely based on the individual's magic prowess.
There were many clans and societies, all ruled by powerful wizards. At that time men and elves were unaware of the irregularities in magic and most sought the most destructive dweomers without proper knowledge or caution.
Eventually, this led to a great crisis among the lands, as magic became more powerful, people became more foolish; portals to different dimensions were constantly being opened by power hungry wizards who sought to gain from outwordly denizens .
The gnomes were the only creatures to fully understand magic, but they had little power anywhere in Tashyn, no one respected their tempered magic, many calling it feeble and useless.
After many years of uncontrolled magic usage and countless magic battles of epic proportions, a rapture in the dimensions was created, unleashing abyssal creatures and demonic armies into the lands.
The evil spread quick, destroying everything in its path and Tashyn entered an era called "The Black Rapture Years".
Tashyn and its inhabitants suffered unspeakable horrors for four decades, most cities were destroyed and society structure disappeared, anarchy ruled the lands.
After countless losses Tashyn's elder races were able to group together and drive evil back into its hole.
At the beginning of the reconstruction, the elder races turned to the gnomes to usher them into a new age of magic.
It is with their help that, in 114 DR, the Guild of Arcane Evokers was created and magic became regulated and controlled.
==Licensing== Licensing rules have been created to control people who use magic.
When a magic user reaches the age of 8, he is obligated to join the guild and undergo strict magic training.
During the licensing process, a tracking dweomer is cast on the licensee, which tracks the magic output rating of the caster. These tracking dweomers are maintained by Mitrik, a race of magically dependent creatures who spend most of their life in the fabrics of magic.
Magic output rating is classified by individual and if that rating exceeds limits, the magic user receives several telepathic warnings, if the rating does not decrease to normal levels, The Inquisitoria is summoned.
==Hierarchy== #Initiate #Student #Apprentice #Associate #Journeyman #Evoker #Councilor #Elder #Master Wizard #Arch Mage ==Mage Hunting== Mage Hunting has always been a questionable act, but the Guild of Arcane Evokers firmly believes that any magic user must be controlled and renegades must be hunted to avoid further catastrophes.
Depending on the circumstances, a renegade Mage could be:
*Forced into servitude with possibility to be allowed in the guild. *Stripped of all magic powers *Marked for The Inquisitoria
