'''The Origin of The Enforcer''' In the far distant dystopian post-apocalyptic future, a team of scientists create the perfect soldier, equipped with powerful body armor and armed with years of training and cyber-enhanced tactical abilities, strength, flight, and battlefield situational awareness. They send their super soldier back into the past to change history, and thus prevent many years of hardship and turmoil. Unfortunately, as he arrived in 2009, weakened and disoriented from the stresses of time travel, the traveler runs across petty thief and ne'er-do-well Zack Thompson, fresh out of jail and casing the neighborhood of his halfway house for homes that would be easy and profitable to rob. When Zack meets the traveler, he promptly beats him up and takes his stuff. Then he dumps the hapless fellow off at a psychiatric hospital where he's sure to stay for a long time. Thrilled at the opportunity that's just fallen into his lap, Zack makes plans for a life on Easy Street financed by a one-man crime spree. On his very first caper, he decides to knock over an armored car. He follows the armored car after it makes a pickup from a bank, planning to swoop down on it, tear off the roof, take as much money as he can carry, and fly off. A very simple plan. Unexpectedly, a small compact car driven by a drunk darts in front of the armored truck, causing it to veer off the road, flip onto its side, and burst into flames. Zack swoops down anyway, and heedless of the flaming wreck, rips the roof off. Inside is a guard struggling to get out. The guard is in Zack's way, so he moves the bruised and bloodied man out of the truck and deposits him on the sidewalk, and then turns his attention to the money. Unfortunately, it's all aflame and worthless to Zack, so he curses his luck and flies off. That night he gets a bit of a surprise as he turns on the news. The main story? Mystery Hero Saves Guard in Truck Fire! Every channel is talking about him. He's in the morning papers too, and by the end of the next day there are internet sites dedicated to his fandom and speculating on his true identity. His story is the third most googled topic, right after Afghanistan and Paris Hilton. It seems he's become a hero. At first he's not sure what to make of it all. But after a few days, when the story still hasn't worn off, he decides to see where this ride will take him. Who knows, maybe if he saves a damsel or two he can get some product endorsements, commercials, or even his own reality TV show. Maybe this is a better way to make money than just stealing stuff.
