=History=
* Born into a small but successful merchant family, Harim's path was never quite clear to him.  As a boy, he was taught how to persuade and bargain, but his older cousin would be the next merchant head, not he.  He showed great talent with spear and sword in the militia, but declined to pursue a career in the Guardians.  Time spent in both the College of Architecture led to a fascination with geomancy, and from there to two years spent in the Lotus Mind College of Thaumaturgical Sciences.  Here he was, if not happy, at least content for the time being.
* And then, crisis hit his family.  Never large, his family had over his short life shrunk to just himself, his cousin and his cousin's wife and almost-grown child.  Now it shrunk even further, with his cousin dead from a bad fall - and leaving a child in charge of the family fortune.  Harim left the College to manage the business for the few short years until his nephew would be old enough and skilled enough to take on the job.

'''Menso (Nephew)''' - Menso, the son of Harim's cousin, is the current merchant of the family after the Solar (with relief) turned over the responsibility to him.  He is quite young, but nigh-unflappable and unconcerned about little but the trading of spices and precious woods that is the centerpiece of the family trade.  Not entirely sure what to make of his uncle's transformation, he puts it aside to focus on business.  With the family responsibilities in good hands, Harim interacts very seldom with his closest living relative; his concerns are far greater now.
